We’re moving! I am so excited to share this life update FINALLY! Not that it’s been a huge secret, but it’s been about ten months in the works. Next week, we pack up our life and move from Dallas, Texas to Boone, North Carolina.

Being a budget traveler, I’d never actually delved into the wonderful world of hostels. The idea of staying in a room with three to nineteen other people was unappealing and I don’t usually travel solo. However, on a solo trip to Salt Lake City, I was looking for accommodation on the cheap and SLC Hostel caught my eye.

Four days is the perfect amount of time to spend in Victoria, a great destination for your next long weekend. With a European vibe, Victoria feels like stepping back in time. There’s a rich cultural heritage, and a British influence that can be seen in its architecture and traditions.

Should you visit Victoria or Vancouver on a trip to British Columbia? Both cities are fantastic destinations, each with their own unique charm and attractions, but you may have to choose one, based on limited time or funds.

If you’re looking to escape into the mountains without hours of driving through windy roads post-flight, Colorado Springs is a great option. While you can hit the highlights in a long weekend, a week gives your body more time to acclimate to higher altitude and rest between strenuous activities.
