Hi, I’m Becca! A spontaneous trip to Costa Rica during college sparked my love for traveling and I just can’t seem to snuff it out! I’m on a mission to visit 100 countries and I’m taking you along with me. My favorite place to explore is always the one I’ve just returned from, but some of my most treasured memories have been at the breathtaking Swiss Alps, the crystal-clear waters of Roatan, Honduras, and the ancient Acropolis in Athens.
WHERE TO STAY IN ROATAN
Where you choose to stay depends on the environment you’re looking for. Most of the tourist activity is on the western side of the island, near the airport. This side of Roatan faces the Yucatan peninsula, positioned on the Mesoamerican Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world.
THINGS TO DO IN TULUM
Tulum boasts some of the best beaches, food, and nightlife in Mexico. It’s perched on the Yucatan peninsula, with easy access to nearby Mayan ruins, cenotes, and eco-sites.
SPEND A WEEK IN ROATAN — 7 DAY ITINERARY
A week in Roatan is the perfect amount of time to explore the island without feeling rushed. Most of the tourist traffic comes from cruise ships, but I think 8 hours isn’t enough time to get a real taste of the island.
